Project - level in UrbanAna
Explore UrbanAna's Project interface. Define parameters across tabs like UrbanAna, Street, Block, Building, Land Use, and Report for comprehensive urban planning and real-time metrics.
Knowledge Base
When selecting Project in the navigation bar, you can define Parameters that are applied throughout the project if not specified otherwise. To understand how Parameters work inside UrbanAna, please visit 5.1 Hierarchy structure.
The Project interface is organized into several tabs:
UrbanAna (Tab)

UrbanAna’s welcome scene
The UrbanAna tab displays the welcome scene when you first open the software. Here you can find:
- Welcome Scene: Current version of UrbanAna and useful buttons
- Change Logs: Documentation of recent updates and Alerts about available software updates.
- Settings: Access to application preferences and configuration options
Street (Tab)
The Street tab in UrbanAna allows users to define and customize street types and their parameters for urban planning projects. This section provides tools to manage street templates and adjust specific street type. For more detailed information about street features, including drawing tools, parameter settings, and street type management, please visit 5.3 Street.
Block (Tab)
The Block tab at the Project level allows you to set default parameters that will be applied to all blocks in your project, unless overridden at the individual block level. For more detailed information about Block, please visit 5.4 Block
Building (Tab)
The Building tab in UrbanAna allows users to define and customize building parameters for Project. For more detailed information about Building and its parameters, please visit 5.5 Building
Land Use (Tab)
The Land Use tab allows you to define and manage different land use types for your urban development project. Each land use type can have specific parameters that affect calculations like:
- Gross Floor Area per Primary Unit (Apartment/Office… )
- Number of Secondary Unit (Residents/Employee…) per Primary Unit
- Parking Requirements…
You can create new land use types, modify existing ones, or remove unused types. These land use definitions can then be applied at the project, block, or individual building level. For detailed information about configuring land use parameters, please visit 5.6 Land Use.
Report (Tab)
The Report tab provides comprehensive urban metrics for your entire project. It automatically calculates and displays key urban planning metrics including:
- Gross Floor Area (GFA)
- Floor Area Ratio (FAR)
- Building Coverage Ratio (BCR)
- Gross Plot Area
- Required Parking Spaces
- Population (Primary Unit and Secondary Unit)
- And more…
The report updates in real-time as you make changes to your model, allowing you to instantly see how design decisions impact important urban metrics. You can also export these reports for documentation or presentation purposes. For more detailed information about urban report metrics, please visit 5.7 Report.
